Electronics Assembler

Location: USA

The Electronics Assembler will perform most operations involved in the assembly of electro-mechanical transducers and associated accessory products. This includes the assembly of miniature electronic and mechanical products and cable assemblies

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and assemble miniature electro-mechanical assemblies and devices utilizing manual dexterity skills with small tools.
  • Read and understand mechanical assembly drawings, assembly instructions and other associated engineering documentation.
  • Use small tools such as tweezers, cutters and wire strippers to perform micro assembly of mechanical and electronic components
  • Soldering, resistance welding, mechanical fastening, and adhesive bonding and wiring are main assembly functions
  • Work for extended periods at a binocular microscope.
  • Assemble miniature electronic products for build-up of cable assemblies.
  • Parts preparation including cleaning, labeling, and protective packaging.
  • Finishing operations such as surface cleaning, identification and labeling, and packaging.
  • Limited functional testing and trouble shooting.
  • Recommend improvements in assembly procedures and tooling.
  • Logging in and out of computer transactions
  • Familiar with Lean Concepts and SAP a plus

Qualified candidates will meet these competencies and requirements:

  • Familiarity with electronic measuring devices such as volt meters, insulation checkers, etc.
  • Competent knowledge of electronic concepts.
  • Able to function and contribute in a team environment.
  • Associates Degree in Applied Science or equivalent two (2) year diploma from a recognized community or junior college plus three (3) years’ experience in fabrication and assembly of small electro-mechanical devices; or Equivalent training and experience.
  • Physical requirements: ability to sit at desk 80% of workday
