Sales Engineer Northwest Italy

The Sales Engineer for the North West of Italy (Piedmont + Liguria + Valle D’Aosta) is responsible  for managing  the existing  accounts into the production application field (Automotive, Appliance, Electromechanical, etc…) and looking for new potential customers within the Kistler target market sectors (Automation, Fastening, Products Assembly) in his allocated territory.


He/She is responsible for the growth of the allocated territory in term of booking and billing turnover and KPIs as margins, number of customers, number of orders. He/She will report to the North West Industrial Team Leader who is located in Italy. He/She is required to plan the sales actions in advance and report them on a weekly visit plan. Reports and updates about visits, actions, opportunities and quotations will be required weekly in order to provide the management a clear view of the market development progress in the allocated territory.


He/She will be the reference for the Kistler customers into the allocated territory for the products and services of all the following BU: Joining Systems, Advanced Monitoring, Fastening Technology, Vision Systems. 

Main Tasks

  • Visit the customers and potential customers to understand their needs in relation to the Kistler products and services portfolio. 
  • Find suitable solution to the customers by means of the Kistler products and services portfolio.
  • Increase the number of incoming orders, and bookings/billing turnover according to the fixed targets in the allocated territory.
  • Establish new customers and keep existing relationships with customers through regular meetings or communication via  web meeting / e-mail / phone
  • Provide quotations timely and punctually. 
  • Negotiate and close the sales by agreeing on the t&c with his manager.
  • Prepare and analyze costs of product sales.
  • Support the marketing activities by attending/organizing trade shows, conference, seminars and other events.
  • Have the competence to provide technical assistance and  product training  (both pre-and post-sales) to customers if and when required (technicians not available for any reason).
  • Giving support to achieve monthly and annual sales revenue targets by analysing costs.
  • Periodical reporting for projects and forecast.
  • Weekly visit/activity plan

Requirements Profile

  • Willingness to continuously develop its area of competence in term of number of contacts, orders, quotations.
  • Committed to improve its own performances through learning of new products, features and developing his own skills. 
  • Oriented to develop the business of the area also providing new ideas and methods to implement them with an suitable strategy, together with the management.
  • Promptly share with the management and the colleagues about news about the competition.
  • Constantly improve and develop the spoken and written English. German is a plus
  • Develop and improve the knowledge not only on the Kistler sensors and systems but also the applications in order to provide a more complete service and consultancy to the customers.
  • Strong willingness to travel and commitment to develop new key customers and increase the sales turnover in the allocated territory.
  • Support the events and the strategies of the management in order to help the Sales Center on the achievement of the global results also out of the sales engineer specific area.
  • Home office work required , located into the west area of Italy 
  • B class driving license with a clean record.
