Accounting and Tax Manager

    The Accounting & Tax Manager will manage the Accounting function of the company. He/she is responsible to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the company financial statements for all divisions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). He/she is also responsible to safeguard company assets by maintaining internal financial controls, to provide sufficient operating cash flows and to manage the relationship with financial auditors and lending institutions as required.

      Main Tasks:

      • Manages the day to day accounting activities for the Americas including Mexico, Brazil and Canada. This includes maintaining the general ledger and related sub-ledgers as well as the trial balance accounts.
      • Closely monitors accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory balances and payroll accounting.
      • Manages the company credit card and purchasing card administration including the related internal expense report processes.
      • Generates timely and accurate financial statements and the associated financial consolidations.
      • Establishes and maintains accounting policies and procedures in conformance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
      • Manages the year-end financials including tax returns for all federal, state and local authorities.
      • Manages Sales, Use and Property Taxes and any other levies.
      • Leads the fiscal audit process by independent auditors.
      • Provides accounting reports to the parent company as required.
      • Manages the accounting for all purchases from group companies and the subsequent disbursement of funds for payment.
      • Perform other duties as assigned.


      • Experience in managing accounting functions in a manufacturing company.
      • Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
      • Excellent analytical skills.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Strong project management skills.

      Requirements Profile:

      • Bachelor degree in accounting or finance from an accredited four (4) year college plus ten (10) years experience in accounting including 3-5 years management experience.
      • Physical qualifications: ability to sit at a desk 90% of workday; ability to use a computer (current ERP System, Windows software, Banking software) 70% of workday.
