Purpose of the Position
The automation application specialist job position has a primary focus on driving the market entry of Kistler's Integrated Solutions in North America and acquiring new customers in high-growth segments. The specialist will work to position Kistler as a leading supplier of Integrated Solution systems by leveraging their expertise in automation applications. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify customer needs, design tailored solutions, and oversee the implementation and optimization of these systems. Additionally, the automation application specialist will keep up-to-date with industry trends, market demands, and competitor activities to ensure Kistler remains a key player in the market. Overall, the automation application specialist plays a critical role in driving Kistler's growth in North America by delivering effective and efficient automation solutions to new and existing customers.
Main Tasks
- Commissioning of complex customer-specific Kistler systems
- Customer-specific parameterization and configuration of Integrated Solutions from Kistler
- Development and testing of new functionalities based on customer requirements
- Adjustment and calibration of Kistler systems
- Responsible for final acceptance of Kistler systems at customer site
- In-house and on-site training
- Analysis of errors and definition of corrective measures
- Preparation of customer documentation (maintenance manual, operating instructions, etc.)
- Technical contact person (m/f/d) for our customers
- Defining service & maintenance strategies based on customer requirements
- Application consulting and pre-sales work
- Close communication with other departments
- Market & business development with other departments
Requirements Profile
- Education in the field of electronics, electrical engineering, automation technology, mechatronics or similar
- Several years of experience in the above-mentioned field
- PLC knowledge TIA Portal / Beckhoff TwinCAT3 / Allen Bradley desirable
- Knowledge of Kistler products would be an essential plus
- Experience in automation technology (electrical & mechanical) desirable
- Ability to work independently and on your own responsibility, combined with communication skills and a confident manner, as well as the ability to work in a Team and flexibility
- Willingness to travel within the USA approx. 50% of the time
