Sales Engineer IPC-Fastening Technology

The Kistler Group is a Swiss high-tech company and the global market leader in dynamic measurement technology.

The Field Sales Engineer IPC is responsible for achieving the sales goals of the Fastening Technology range of the company’s Industrial Process Control products in a defined territory. He/she will visit customer sites, identify projects and instrumentation requirements, provide advice on appropriate applications and sell those company products.

Main Tasks:

  • Respond to requests for technical, price, delivery, and service information
  • Provide advice on the appropriate application of fastening technology products
  • Develop and implement a sales strategy in conjunction with the Sales Manager
  • Identifies and penetrates OEM and Tier supplier companies and coordinates strategy with the Sales Manager
  • Identifies new application opportunities and unique market requirements, consults with the Sales Manager and Application Experts on special solutions
  • Maintain current knowledge of new and existing products and applications
  • Prepares customer price quotations
  • Assists in preparing special project proposals as required
  • Coordinates commitments with affected internal departments
  • Physical requirements: ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Travel requirements: available to travel 80% of time by car
  • Airline travel is required as well as occasional trips abroad for training

Competencies:

  • Experience in the application of force, pressure and torque transducers, associated electronics, software and controls to measure, monitor and evaluate manufacturing and assembly processes in the application areas addressed by those products
  • Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, fastening, torque tools and assembly operations
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft office products
  • Authorized to work in the US
  • A current and valid driver’s license and passport is required

Requirements Profile:

  • Bachelor Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited four (4) year college preferred plus two (2) years of experience in technical sales; or
  • Associates Degree (A.A.S) in Engineering Technology or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or vocational technical school plus five (5) years of experience as technical sales engineer
